Is Square-Enix making a mistake making 360 there go to system for rpgs?

 I doubt they "paid" for the game so much as aided the company with development/translation/advertising.  Personally would you want Microsoft or Sony to do an epic ad campain for you?  I think Final Fantasy XIII would sell asstons better on the 360 if Microsoft pulled a Halo 3 epic ad campain for the game.

 

I honestly do believe that MS paid for FFXIII.

As far as the 360 being the go to console for Square RPGs, someone above me made the excellent point that Square is trying to reach into the West. This is one of the reasons for the 360 being their platform right now IMO.

 

You do realize that hd games cost a rediculous amount to make right especially a game that had been in development for as long as ff13.

Square knew that the ps3 install base alone arent enough to get a healthy profit out of the game so the only logical thing to do was make it multiplatform.

FFvs13 on the other hand was probably paid by from sony because that game has no reason to stay exclusive.
