The PS3 did considerably outsell the 360 in Europe last year. The 360 is still a non factor for Japan.
Regarding 2008 holiday sales, I anticipated no economic problems like yen vs dollar exchanges, so I expected a worldwide PS3 price cut by October. I anticipated Final Fantasy to be ready in 2008. I also didn't expect the 360 to sell as low as 119 Euros including 19% taxes including free games.
I have said this multiple times already. Yes not everything has gone according to plan, but for the long run I don't think it will matter that much.
I have listed the factors I consider to be crucial many times.

Considering the fact that we've been hearing the same excuses things ever since the PS3 launched, what is the long run? Ten years from now? And why don't the last two or three years matter that much?
