Hold on to your copy. I bet in 5-10 years it'll be selling for over 100 bucks.

Maybe even more for the PAL version ...

Where The Hell Is Valkyria Chronicles?

Before Xmas, a friend of mine was telling me how he couldn't find a copy of Valkyria Chronicles anywhere in Sydney. He'd walk into games stores, a crisp $100 note in hand, but no one wanted his money! Since then, and since I picked Sega's delightful SRPG as my 4th best game of 2008, a whole bunch of you have been telling me the same tale of disappointment. So what's the story, Sega?

I asked Sega if they had any plans to order in another shipment of stock. Their answer?

No.

Which is a tragedy. Valkyria Chronicles is, to my mind, the single best game on PS3 - certainly the best exclusive. We already know how hard it tanked at retail in North America, and now it appears to have done the same here, too.

But this doesn't mean you can't buy it. There are copies still out there somewhere, just waiting to be taken back to a loving home. I've found a few local online retailers claiming to have at least one copy in stock. And if you happen to spot a copy on a retail shelf somewhere - or better yet, you work in a games store that hasn't entirely sold out yet - do let us know! Who knows, if there's enough demand, maybe Sega will be able to bring in some more stock.
