No I don't think it will. The art direction will cause the game to be niche. Okami's unique artstyle hamstrung its sales on PS2 and Wii. I think the same will be true of Madworld. Madword will probably only sell 20k to 30k in Japan. I think it will be able to hit 500k worldwide but 1 million, I just don't see it. I'll be buying though. So I'll be doing my part at least.
