Did you read the post where I talked about how consoles have certain genres just because they can't be done all too well on a PC? I'm pretty sure that covered Madden and Rock Band, as well as a bunch of others out there. I'm talking your shooters, role-players, and your strategy games here. Also adventure games, but you can also push a bunch of platformers as adventure too, and it all just gets blurry. The truth is you see those olden games because there haven't really been new games that top them. Why buy a clone or an inferior product? Again, I blame the fact consoles' backwards compatibility for this and the sudden jump of the "quality" of games when a new generation is launched.
