Why does some people fear/hate the Wii?

Some people like it, some don't. There sure were people in previous gens that didn't fancy this or that console, have we already forgotten? I don't care if someone likes or dislikes a product, it is their right to purchase, own and enjoy anything they like.
Of course, there are many who plain say they "hate the Wii" and give no reason other than "I just do", but there are also folks who just don't see the big deal and feel that Nintendo has let them down this gen, and the last group get clinged to the first and everyone assumes that anyone who does not dote on the Wii is some people hating, childish, sourmouthed moron.
That's a tad unfair.
For the record; I belong to the latter group, I came into the gen wanting to love the Wii (in fact, if you look at my Gamespot blog from 2006 you'll see who I was more excite for back then) but it failed to win me over.
Simple, but some just don't get it and I pity them.
