For some reason, too many people would rather be right established by illogical opinon than be wrong established by facts and admit it
Very well said Viper, this is true beyond the realm of the gaming discussion.
As for the OP I don't think Wii is anymore a fad than the SNES or PS1/2 were. It is entertaining to see the grasping for straws that goes on each and every time the facts surrounding the Wii dispute the false fanboy talking points that most pull out their asses. "Wii doesn't sell 3rd party software" "Only soccermoms buy the system, along with elder people" Mini games only game library" "Wii is a fad" I could keep going, but its all just silly talk. Wii is the market leader, the runaway success this gen, and a phenom of a sales beast.
Another thing, when has the market leading console been the first to be replaced by a successor? I find it funny so many folks think Wii will be the first to be replaced. It goes against history, and logic.
Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:
If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.
If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.
