I do not think userbase should ever be counted in this particular debate. Reason being...

If the game was really worth getting, the person would have bought the system. I mean, that is what should decide a console purchase right? Games that you want being on said system. None of the RPGs on 360 are worth buying that system, at least in the Japanese's eyes. That is why they barely bought it. Some, but not many. PS3 on the other hand many did, or will think certain games are worth the purchase in JAP so they buy those.

A little more time and research is needed to make it official but WKC has to no surprise done better then every RPG released on the 360 as of yet. it is the first TRUE JRPG on the PS3 (Not including ARPGs, SRPGs, and WRPGs, like Folklore, Oblivion,Disgaea 3, and VC) And it truly is not that big of budget. I believe Lost Odyssey was probably way bigger in production value.

This pretty much rectifies the implication that companies like SE made a good decision by going multiplat becuase they would not make any money by staying exclusive to PS3. WKC proves(from what seems to be a really good selling game in Japan) that the PS3 really IS the way to go for JRPGs.

Okay, so we shouldn't consider userbase when talking about American sales? I mean, I've always thought the PS3 pushed a respectable amount of software in NA considering how firmly entrenched it is in third place. But if you think that the size of the userbase doesn't matter, then maybe you also think the people blazinhead was talking about are right and SoNy iS DyInG iN AmEricA!!!!!111

Even though WKC has sold pretty well in Japan, Square-Enix hasn't gone multiplatform because of Japanese sales; they've gone multiplatform because of worldwide sales. If you'll notice, FFXIII isn't even coming out on the 360 in Japan. I realize you're still hurt over Square-Enix's dire treachery, but why don't we wait until we have a chance to see how well both systems can move JRPGs outside of Japan?

Lastly, you're clearly talking through your hat about the budgets of WKC and Lost Odyssey. You really have no idea. "I believe" is no kind of an argument.
