Zelda sales are improving again with the last iterations, so yes, there is no danger for this franchise. I also think that the next Zelda will sell more than Twilight Princess and may sell even more than Ocarona of time because of the numbers of Wii sold when the game will arrive.
I haven't played Fable II but I agree, maybe that Fable II is a much better game than Twilight Princess, a lot of people have told me that is an amazing game and in fact, I didn' enjoy Twilight Proncess like other Zelda titles....but the NAME of the brand is much stronger in the case of Zelda....when you say 'Zelda' in videogames is like to say 'Michael Jordan' in basket.
