Hey, welcome to the forum, I hope you stick around on the site even after your thesis is done :)
That is fairly hard data to find. Very few people are willing to take on the mammoth task of tracking PC games, and online distribution is making it even harder.
But you can be sure that Japan is more console (and handheld) oriented than either the USA or Germany
