No, 1 million first week for will be a dissapointment for the Final Fantasy series. What every other fanboy thinks about it is completely irrelevant. I'm pretty sure SE doesn't invest more money in a title to sell less...
Final Fantasy X - 1,9 mln.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 1,5 mln.
Final Fantasy XII - 1,8 mln.
SO, realistically speaking FFXIII will do 1,5-2 mln. in Japan. Over 2 mln. first week has very slim chances(depends on PS3 price).
Yes, you're right. Although X-2 is more or less a spin-off, but I think we can agree on the basis of these numbers that XIII should do above 1.5 million in order for it to be a success (Something I think is definitely possible btw).
For WKC? Out of the question. 322k lifetime if they're lucky. Sales don't double over first day, definitely not for RPGs. Usually about 70% of first week sales is sold day 1, and first week sales are usually around 60% of lifetime sales for RPGs in Japan.
