As I said in my post the PS3 is losing in its best market (Japan), whereas the 360 is still leading its best market (America). The 360 also built a 6 million unit lead which would keep them ahead for 5 years at the current rate. Right now, things look undeniably better for the 360. You may think its future is gloomier than the PS3's, and that things are going to improve for the PS3, but that's your opinion.

Also... going from "unquestionable market leader" (PS2) to this (PS3), does look much worse than going from "new rookie that did not so bad" (Xbox) to this (360).

Why is Japan the PS3's best market?  Oh, you mean the PS2's best market.  Even so, it only sold 25 million there, as opposed to 48 and 45 in America and Europe.  Anyway, regional strengths don't always remain the same when the hardware cycle takes the next step. 

For a declining example, the N64 was almost as popular in America and Europe as the SNES was -- the dramatically lower numbers are because the Japanese hated the thing for some reason.  

For a dominant example, the GBA's strongest territory is/was America, followed by Europe, followed by Japan.  The DS's strongest territory, conversely, is Japan, with Europe barely ahead of America.  

Who knows what the PS3's strongest territory will be, once they stop dicking around with bundles and so on?
