God of War's story only rocks if you compare it to something written by a dead ferret. Kratos was a bloodthirsty warrior and gave his soul to the God of War. The God of War has him kill people. Kratos gets angry because a few of those people happen to be close to him. It reeks of hipocrisy and foolishness. He made a deal with the devil and then blamed the devil for his own stupid decision.
You hardly sound very objective here, because you sound like you've made your mind up about Metal Gear-games before you even play them. If you go into a game and already tell yourself beforehand that the story is epic, chances are you'll block out all of the flaws.
