You apparently didn't read my posts above as I requested. New internal components do not mean anything at all. None, zilch, nothing, nada.

The Ford Mustang comes in 4 cylinder, V6 and V8 engines. Does that mean all 3 are different products? No, they are just different models of the same product.

In the traditional sense of video game console and handheld upgrades the GBC is a new console unto itself. Its an upgarde in every sense of the word (screen ratio, button count not counting) to the GB-GBP-GBL line. The same cannot be said about other hardware revisions (GBA-GBASP-GBM-GBASP+) < these are the same GBA line (PS2-PS2S) < same line.

The GBC inherits almost nothing from the GB-GBP-GBL save the external desing (even thsi is changed with the addition of the IR port) it ahs its on exclusives, as well as special feature titles (Link's Awakening DX, Tetris DX) that can be played on both the GB line and the GBC.

But the GBC is completly different from the GB dosent that constitute a seperate product in the video game world?

A Mustan GT and a 76 Mustang ARE NOT THE SAME and neither si Game Boy and Game Boy Color. their just marketed under the same banner. Name does not imply product line, only branding.

As for the engines...this I have to conceed...they are the same product...but in the video game world performance upgrades and specific games for a system imply a new console...its the way it always has been.

The GBC cant be compared to the PS2Slim, as they PS2Slim did what the PS2 did, the GBC does what the GB-GBP-GBL cant.
