As a happy PS3 owner I'm actually scared that we're going to face disastrous European PS3 sales for April and May. As most of the german customers I got my PS3 on friday evening after returning from work (it seems that almost noone thought of a need to skip work just to get a PS3 early). But I was interested in the sales after the launch weekend and so I walked into some stores on monday and counted their PS3 accumulations before I went to work. 2 MediaMarkts, 1 Saturn and 1 Toys'R'Us had a total of 205 consoles sitting around. Yesterday I returned to those 4 shops and was shocked that there were still 202 consoles left. I thought that they may have restocked their piles but the sales managers of the stores confirmed to me that they didn't get new shipments yet. I'm very aware that this is just an empiric sample of my region and that there could be much better sales in another region. And I expect that their will be some better sales on friday and saturday and in the few days before easter but the outcome still leaves me with serious doubts about the demand for the PS3 in Europe. I'll keep an eye on those console piles this weekend.
