Because what devs devop and announced til know, was decided before everybody knew how successful the Wii is. And devs don't decide that much on their own. The publisher do decide in most cases what will be developed, and those need time for change. |
And to add to that, if it takes 2 year and 20 million to develope a game for PS3, next years titles have been started in 2006. Lets say that average PS3 title is started june 2006, it costs 20 million and takes 2 years to develope. Everybody was expecting PS3 to sell better by default and focused on PS3. It was just after christmas, when there was starting to be some indication, that PS3 really doesn't sell. And at that point, to average PS3 title, developers had invested more than 5 million, so they were not just going to throw away that money and jump on the Wii. They need to finish the projects before they get refund and start new projects.
