2009 Predictions

360:
- 360 hardware redesign by Fall. (360 Slim) (yes, I agree with you)
- Microsoft tries to buy at least one Japanese development studio, but fails.
- E3 will be very heavily casual focused, and soon everyone will be saying Microsoft has lost the hardcorz
- Halo Wars = 1.0M,  Halo 3:OSDT = 4 Million by end of year
- x360 maintains it's current lead over the PS3 (in terms of absolute units)


Wii:
- No price drop in 2009, with exception for corrections to exchange rates
- No updated model, but they finally allow SD cards to be used exactly like current internal memory
- WiiFit passes 25 million by years end
- Wii Sports Resort 30 million by years end.
- New Zelda game for Christmas supporting Wii motion Plus, new Mario Game too.
- Surprise Wii titles include:  GTA V, FFXIV (out before FFFXIII) and a Professor Layton game for the Wii
- Non-nintendo published 90+ metacritic rated games in 09: 2.
- Conduit = 4M by end of the year
- Wii Music = 10M by end of year
- Nintendo has a more hardcore E3 than Sony/Microsoft
- Kingdom Hearts 3 gets announced for Wii
- Wii hits 56% market share within 09


PS3:
- There will be a price drop during the summer.
- $299/$399 PS3 for Holiday 09.
- Blockbuster video steaming.  (And integrated into Home)
- LBP will be heavily bundled.
- GT5 will be released in 09.  FFXIII will not. (see above crazy prediction about FFXIII)
- Home will remain BETA for the entire year
- will get a Dogz or equivalent title (petz, catz, horzez, whatever, it will be crap, and it will be on the PS3)




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
