It's 9 months since launch and it's sold more than the PS2 did in its first 9 months.

I think we've only seen the beginning. Nintendo by far has the upper hand in the price war and Microsoft and Sony's advantage, graphical capability, is being hamstringed by slow HD adoption. They're already making a profit on each unit and they have economies of scale on their side. It may be years before Wii sales are demand limited since Nintendo should be able to lower the price every time demand goes lower than supply.

I predict that by the end of this generation, nearly every console gamer, except for the most stubborn Xbox and Playstation diehards, will own a Wii. Some of them will be a bit reluctant to buy it, but by the time it gets down to $150, there's going to be enough must-have games that it will be nearly impossible to resist.
