We've already seen a revamped Blue/Red/Yellow. It was only a couple of years ago - it was Fire Red/Leaf Green.

And I think they'll continue to make new pokemon and more generations until it becomes no longer viable. I mean, people say they are bleeding it dry, but really, since 1998 we have had 4 main games, excluding spin-offs and 3rd editions like Yellow/Crystal/Emerald and Ranger. That means new pokemon come about on average once every 2.5 years. That's not that often, really. Compare that to new Guitar Heros or Fifas. The only reason they do so many spinoff games and 3rd versions is to stretch it out and avoid bringing in too many pokemon too fast.
