I really really hope the "Ninty" as you describe it doesn't win... EVER. It would be a shame if all the FPS, TPS etc. in the world were replaced by the WiiFits and Wiiplays. Nothing wrong with spending your time palying those once in a while but I can'timagine anyone spending 15 hours a day (as some people who play COD and Halo do) playing those and not being bored to tears... Thank God your winning world is nothing like what's really going on.

OT:

If by "losing the hardcore" means that developers now have more incentive to get the next minigame collection out for hte Wii instead of the next "No more heroes" then, yes.

If a developer has the resources to produce that 1 Wii game, why would they choose to incorporate a complex story and steep learning curve?

 

 

Ermmh... it doesnt mean that FPS and TPS will be gone if Ninty won, the one that will gone are the hardcore games that only relies on gore and violent factor and mostly playing online. BTW have you played Half Life? Counter Strike? Half Life 2? Half Life deathmatch? Yeah those days were fun, fun till most FPS are more into violence and graphics factor theres no real gameplay anymore. The only game I want to play with all the swarm of FPS was COD 4 because its the only FPS that have great gameplay and not focus on graphics and gore.

I played CS over many years a while ago and I must say there is nothing like that experience currently on the consoles. However, those gamers are definitely what Ninty doesn't cater for. In my books, the very low interest in online playing was a bad move by Nintendo and one of the main reasons I didn't play my Wii in a while... To tell you the truth I'm not an FPS fan at all unless it has interesting multiplayer, the only games I play a lot and finish are the ones with a strong storyline or sports games and unfortunately the Wii's lineup in the last part of this year had none of these games.

The one thing I agree with you is that the addition of violence and gore is unnecessary....
