Even if I don't like it, Wii Fit and some games that use the wii board.  It is a pretty huge technical achievement for bringng back full interation in the home.

Other noteables would be:

Wii Sports (interaction)

Rockband (interaction/multiplayer)

Crysis (graphically)

MGS4 (tons of features/graphics/A.I./ very enjoyable cutscenes)

GEOW 1 (1 started it all, 2 is very much so a polished extension, great series)

Uncharted (a.i  especially)

Conduit (getting the most out of a "inferior" system and proving it can be done)

Call of Duty 4 (hands down one of the best games ever made.  I don't know many who would argue against this)

Forza 2 (for even coming close to Gran turismo in quality/reality)

LBP (game mechanics are amazing, player supported levels = amazing and inovative, would rival the wii board/wii fit)

Too early to call but probably amazing:

RE5

Killzone (if it turns out to be anything like the beta, this game will set the standard for fps and multiplayerfps)

Gran turismo 5

I could add more but I think this is enough for now.  This is a good generation to own all 3 systems.

*Note: the reason why I dislike Wiifit is because you don't need a video game to do fitness.  It is almost a slap in the face when you meet someone and they say they do Yoga with wiifit and you have been practicing for over 7 years and they think they are even in the same realm of practice.  The game mostly provides the instant gratification most people are seeking but don't get from exercise.  Then again, what videogame doesnt supply a form of Instant gratification?  All personal angst aside... it is a technical achievement, and very popular at that.

I'm one of them. It certainly wasn't very technically stunning- the graphics were average, the AI wasn't great and the multiplayer is starting to get buggy.

Whats up with the MP?  I haven't played online in a few months and I rarely had issues with MP (aside from glitchers).  A.I. is average for any IW game but I think the graphics are a little better than average.  Technically speaking the game has set the gold standard for online multiplayer.

To begin with, it was great. Completely bug free. Now, I have experienced:

-People floating a few centimeters off the ground

-Games closing for no reason

-Lag

I think they've stopped maintaining it.

Are you on XBL or PSN?  I buy all my multiplats on PS3 because the lag/issues on live are much worse and more frequent.  I know on PSN the game drops started up after they mixed the EU and NA server pools back together and the new "fad" of glitchers is to pull out the ethernet cable from the ps3/xbox360 unit to drop a game and avoid a loss/tarnished record (doesnt record until after the match ends so they avoid the potential bad score/loss/drop in k/d).  But that has been an issue since May.

PSN. I don't own a 360. Although I thought the quality was much better on Live. Being paid and all.

Funnily enough, despite owning a PS3, I use wired. It's a lot more stable. Back when I was using wireless, the game crashed even more.

But the most annoying and significant of those things is the dropping. I'm lucky if, after a game, the lobby doesn't close, resulting in me needing to autofind a match another five times until I find something.
