NEWS FLASH: with the adjustments that took place this week, it seems that Wii already passed PS3 worldwide numbers in America 2 weeks ago.

Week of July 29th

Japan 1061982
America 1738147
Others 1172129
Total PS3 3972258

America Wii 3974505

Ps3 then got the "lead" again last week. like this

Week of August 5th

Japan 1085589
America 1776999
Others 1204007
Total PS3 4066595

America Wii 4066451

They were just 144 units away from each other with Ps3 in the lead.
This week
PS3 total 94431
Wii America 86469

The difference grew 7,962 to 8,106.

Wii could pass it again any week depending on shipment differences in the United States. But the thing is, it already happened, so this thread may rest in peace, and the people calling other people "stupid looking" can eat their own words...

The difference was higher during the month of july, because wii had record sales.

I think it had already happened prior to adjustments but the pricecut had reversed the trend.

Pretty interesting ain't it?

Great find. I thought it was pretty interesting.

I usually wouldn't post this, but I think it might be nice to get some recognition for the finding.  You seem to be getting only bashing on yourself and on vgchartz numbers to belittle your finding. Lighten up people...

Nintendo might have passed PS3 a long time before by how close these numbers are. The might also never have passed them. We are looking at the vgchartz estimate and yeah... it happened. What is the big deal anyway? You guys just want to say: "THIS DID NOT HAPPEN AND WILL NEVER HAPPEN". Lighten up...
