The atmosphere, the characters, the puzzle involving the physical engine, the overall difficulty of the games clearly makes it a masterpiece. I was a bit worried about the fact that i had the impression of following a straight road. Sometimes, there was an accumulation of puzzles that i found annoying. These are the only flaws that i found. Somehow, you make references to actual FPS, such as Halo (overhyped !) or GoW. If you hadn't, try to play Duke Nukem and Doom, the orginal. Forget the graphic gap. You'll see that all the above referencesto FPS are just the legacy of those two, imho. |
You do know the first FPS was Wolfenstein 3D right? basically the FPS that even Doom and Duke supporters have to node to is Wolfenstein. Without it Doom and Duke Nukem wouldnt exist or Halo or Unreal or Gears or any shooters we have today. I'm sure the genre would have been made eventually, we just wouldnt be talking about the games we have now without Wolfenstein.
