@OP: I can understand why you'd wonder, I do too. Japan has been really weird and unpredictable this gen, maybe they are discontent over too few erotic games on the handhelds? 
Almost every single "big in Japan" title has either bombed or done considerably worse than most people expected. For a record breaking gen in sheer amount of hardware sold and total revenue thus far, Japan sure ain't moving those core titles this time around.
