That is outlandish, to make a prediction of only 1 million for SSBB! There's that many people just in the "official SSBB official updates" thread 
Actually I would say it depends entirely on whether it will be online or not. Sure, everybody thinks it will be online, but it isn't confirmed yet and I know at least a million people that won't buy it unless it is online 
ok, maybe exaggerating a little. A million is a lot for first week sales, but didn't Halo 2 & 3 pass that in preorders alone? Not that SSBB is Halo, but that does give an indication of what support may be like... Halo 2 @ 8 million = >1 million Halo 3 preorders. SSBM @ 6 million.... Could go over 1 million preorders for SSBB, but only if online is announced...early enough to make preorders anyway.
