Wii has 36 games which have shipped 1m according to Nintendo's recent investor briefing.
Reaching 100 is not even the issue. Not having 100 million-sellers would be like Wii not selling 100m hardware units at this point. The real landmark would be if it could reach 200 or 250.
Obviously a number like that is a few years down the road, but as Wii's install base goes past 100m, and the attach rate climbs up towards 8 or 9 or higher, games will be reaching the 1m mark faster than anyone can keep up, just like with PS2 a few years ago.
The thing which could keep Wii below PS2's total is EA, as they made a massive amount of PS2's million-sellers, but clearly have not figured out Wii yet, and are in some ways a shell of what they were 5 or 6 years ago anyways.
"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."
Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
