^That may be so but the longer the gap is maintained the more drastically the PS3 will have to outsell the Xbox when the price drop comes. Already you are looking at 100 000 units per week, every week for a year which would be no mean feat. Judging by current sales i think it's hard for people to imagine such a drastic turnaround.
