I've been reading through a lot of topics over the past months and one thing sticks out...

People (and use the term loosely) saying certain games are just the "same ol' same ol'" and their game is better...

Common arguments I've heard recently

"MGS4 is just 1,2 and 3 but with better graphics! I love Gears of War 2!",

"Gears of War 2 is just Gears 1.5 basically, just better graphics. R2 will pwn it!"...

And even outside of the extreme it seems people are being blinded by this.. The GoTY conversation was full of people chalking up basically every game as the same ol' same ol'.. when in reality, basically every game out right now is just that... There aren't many games that have something TRUELY unique.. LBP might be great, but is it TRUELY unique? No... But it has put the same ol' same ol' together differently. Gears of War 2, R2, GTAIV, MGS4, Fable 2, and so on.. None of these games are something new.. Just something improved. If people wanted NEW and Innovative GTAIV would have got a 4/10... Because reviewers would have been like

"Yea, it's pretty.. but isn't this exactly the same as last time? Cool we have a phone and a computer, but why can't I control aspects of my character like before?"

Sad thing is that the REALLY innovative games are not embraced and fall off the map only to be found years later by a cult following. While people (once again loosely) try to degrade others choice of the "same ol' same ol'" claiming a lack of creativity and innovation.

... sorry for the rant...

loco roco restored my faith in original gaming, with its unique and fun game play mechanic. honestly it made me reevaluate the psp... still it need a god damn second nub
