I imagine Japan charts actually look the same, 8 of 10 this week will be Ps3, 360, PS2, games, even though those games sell anemically in Japan they still probably take 7-8 of the top ten slots versus 2-3 Wii games. |
You're actually quite wrong about Japan. Like, REALLY wrong (360 games rarely make the Top 30, and PS3 games are hardly more abundant).
You've also taken a nice snapshot of one week, and projected it as a generalization. We know the Wii moves more software than the other two systems, even if it rarely takes the top slot. Kind of makes one think this week is anamolous...
And yes, let's talk about NPD, and how the number of Wii games in the Top 10/20/30 has been increasing steadily, to the point where it's often half the top 30. Granted, it's rare for it to take the top spot (that's a 360 game), but then its games also tend to last more than a month. I'm pretty sure publishers don't mind that tradeoff...
