You shouldn't need more than 4 GB of RAM for a long time...maybe in 4 years 6 or 8 GB will actually be useful for games, but for now, you won't notice anything over 2 GB of RAM even in Crysis...any more than 2 GB is simply better for lots of multitasking and heavy computing.

Unless you're going to be working on 10 Photoshop projects, browsing with 50 tabs open, watching the debates while listening to music with Crysis on pause, you won't need more than 4 GB of RAM, and 2-3 GB will do just fine.
