The N.A. sales you posed are in a different context than that of Japan. No matter how it's viewed and that the PS3 is in 3rd in N.A., the actual raw numbers of PS3 hardware and software sales are more than enough to warrant support of the PS3 in N.A. Nowhere as crucial as in Japan.

It's a fact that the PS3's userbase is larger that the 360 in Japan. It's a fact that 360 has outsold the PS3 in recent weeks in Japan. Now, we can acknowlegdge these facts, but I agree with you. It's nothing to brag about, and you don't even have to relatively compare it to the Wii's success. If the PS3 will usurp the 360's recent gain, then it does. But I wouldn't make it a big deal either way.
