This entire thread fails... how can you complain about a system that is FULLY compatible with all games and peripherals from its predecessor just because Nintendo decided to release updates to classics that are no longer widely available, except at second-hand places like Gamestop? Nintendo is doing that to satisfy an obvious chunk of its user base as well as to *gasp* make money from sales it would otherwise lose from people buying used copies.
Hell, neither the 360 or PS3 are fully B/C (yes i know the 60gig PS3 is but that has been discontinued), and for the 360 only a select number games are compatible, or you have to purchase them over Xbox Live. This is one of many things that Nintendo learned from the past and did right this generation... one reason PS2 was so successful was that it allowed instant access to a huge library of quality titles for new owners as well as an all-in-one solution for existing PS1 owners.
Besides... this is NINTENDO we're talking about people... they are the all-time king of re-releasing games! So why would anyone be surprised by this move?

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
