You do know that Sony makes its main profits from software, don't you? the more they sold in the start the EASIER they could recoup later due to bigger userbases.

 

 

Yes, but that depends on consumers buying SW, and SCE hasn't been releasing that many games that are catching the public's attention. Not to mention the ps3's that are just being bought for bluray and not games [Where SONY Computer Entertainment makes cash]. They need a better attatch rate if they plan on making good profit from those units sold, and they just don't have the games releasing to do it right now.
