Only Pokemon game I played regularly for a long time and the only game to have me completely fooled with. I honestly tried all those Mew, Pikablu, etc... rumours floating around the net in those days. I actually sat there, fishing off the S.S. Anne for like 5 hours trying to catch a Pikablu before I checked up on the rumour again to find out it wasn't true... sigh... How about using strength on the truck where the S.S. Anne used to be. I was excited when I found it because I thought if I used strength on the truck it would move over, revealing a pokeball containing Mew. sigh...
At least Missing No. turned out to be true though, the nice LVL 250 Golbat I got that way sure helped in my classroom battles. :)
Even did the whole "Beat the Elite 4, then put slot 1 pokemon into the PC, take it back out" thing to raise the stats on my Pokemon who already reached lvl 100.
Sad? Yeah, I know. I needed to do what I could in order to beat my classmates.
