First of all lumping Metroid with Mario, Smash Bros., Halo or any other huge seller is ridiculous. This is a good seller but not even close to any of those at all anywhere.
1st week- 135,000
End of September- 350,000
This game has a shot at 1 million by year's end but not too much more.
Edit: Also enough with the BS about game sites being biased against the Wii.... Metroid Prime is gonna insanely high reviews just as Zelda did.
