People are putting too much faith in Japanese sales as if they are the end all be all. They will buy what they want, in America we're obviously more valuable to Sony, because our sales points alone are much higher. This gen is extremely different from last gen. Sales are slower for HD consoles. The problem with Sony fanboys is that they stick to the same ideology that they had since the first Sony system. Times change and you must adapt coginitively.
