Ioi probably also gets paid BETTER if people actually CLICK the links, but that's not usually necessary TO get paid.

 

This is how non-targeted ads work (like google ad-sense), however ioi has switched to new ads (at least some are the new ads, we still have some old ads), and those don't work that way.

the mall gets money regardless of whether you buy  or anyone else buys at a given store or not. If the store goes under because no one was shopping there, then the mall rents it out the space to another store. :b Horrible logic.

ioi does not get money if you block the ads, and he gets even less if you encourage others to do the same.

this is the reason I normally use Chrome when I'm on VGChartz. I use FF's adblocker for other sites, but I can deal with a few ads if it'll help ioi out. (I don't give a damn about other sites' money problems) And there's the fact that chrome is at least twice as fast as FF at loading pages....
