Again, even if that statement exists it could be that you misinterpreted what was meant by "turning a profit".  Obviously it's not HW + SW; I seriously doubt it's HW alone; and the third possibility is cumulative profit vs. loss for PS3 overall, which Sony might be arrogant enough to claim, but I doubt it would be that insane.  I guess there could be a fourth possibility of cumulative entertainment division (PS2+PSP+PS3) profit/loss counting from the start of the PS3, but that would be a strange measurement -- however, that might be something Sony would track just to be able to make a face-saving "we profited" claim. 

So you see, your little bit of information really means nothing until you give us the source to verify it and put it in context. 

Or, more briefly, source or it doesn't exist.
