 You sure about that?  Cause that's exactly when the loud grinding noise began.  Maybe I'll try them again.

 

Yeah, when SSBB first came out it bricked countless systems, including mine (2 weeks after I bought the game). Since it is a dual-layer disk, it works the Wii harder and caused many systems to break. Just tell Nintendo that you just bought SSBB and your system broke while playing it. They'll ask you to send in the game and the system and they will do it all for free.

 

At least, they should.
