i use etrade. my wife just opened a scottrade account.
zecco sounds like an up and comer with some novel ideas, but i haven't looked into it much.
also, unknowingly, i learned that etrade is now a premium broker. and it's ranked #1! how times change. from discount broker to premium broker.
apparently, if you have over $25,000 in an account in bank of america, trades are free. in general, it seems like we're moving in the direction of free trading--free as in free lunch, not free speech.
okay, another obscure reference. not that obscure though given this site's audience!
