@halil: I'm not actually defending it. I'm just looking at it outside personal preferences and try to see what it's all about.
It will sell good without a doubt, no matter how fanboys rant or feel offended.
When Wii Music has sold above 5 million, we read people ranting how it "sells because it's a Nintendo game", the same thing we read about Brain Training, Nintendogs, Wii Fit etc. Or "the casual are buying it" or "the kids are buying it" or anything that you can imagine to attempt to show that it sells because people don't understand what they are buying, instead of people buying it because they like it.
Now "the ultimate videogame" is to offer explanation to its future sales. A lot of people play games without any specific goal in mind, just to have fun, but in most games the required learning curve is too high for people who haven't played any games before. Or focusing on competing or achieving also turns people off because they may not be able to compete or achieve what's required. Wii Music doesn't have those obstacles and the only question is, that is Wii Music able to "pull it off".
Ei Kiinasti.
Eikä Japanisti.
Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.
Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.
