That's not necessarily true. Halo 2 sold quite a bit better than Halo 1. Gears of War 2 may very well out-sell Gears 1. At this point, there's really no reason to think that it won't.
Price cuts usually lead to a one or two month trend in increased sales. Microsoft's slashing of sales of not only all three Xbox360 models, but also of a lot of downloadable content (reference: GameSpot) will no doubt help them out in the next month. However, their price cuts are also coming a short month before the holiday season starts moving in on us. That means that the Xbox360 has every reason to be a very popular machine over the holidays. I personally believe that, in North America at least, the holidays will be better for MS than Sony.
Honestly, besides all the Wii hate these days, what's with all the Xbox hate? Is everybody a damn PS3 fanboy all of a sudden?
