Ehh... I didn't understand why you made the question in the end. I believe Nintendo has big plans for online in the future and currently Virtual Console and WiiWare makes them money. Have you tried to play Smash online with strangers? My wii never finds other players, but when I play COD4 online on my PS3 I can play instantly with others

 

Yeah, i have. But i don't think a Nintendo router is going to fix it. The Brawl online system is pretty much broken. They should have taken the same approach they did with Mario Kart.
