I have to admit, that i usually go for the balance games, so not that much of an excercise, but the excercise parts really give you a sweat. Atleast if you do as you're told.
The problem with the strength training is, that you're supposed to use your own weight, which usually isn't enough for an average male in short bursts, but the number of repetitions do give a pretty good stress, after all, the game is more about keeping in shape, and it's a really good routine to add, if you go to gym and lift weights, since it concentrates more on a different type of workout (and the hula hoops is the best thing that have ever happened to my back).
Anyway, maybe your expectations were something different.
