A mod probably just felt it wasn't constructive, or was inciteful (against the person who made the comments, not against the site). If you really feel that the thread should have remained open, just PM a mod with the request, along with your reasoning, or at least a request for why it was locked (it seems like DKII is the one you'll want to talk to).
