Super Mario Bros. is currently the best selling video game of all time, and it came out for the Nintendo, which is the best sold Nintendo console ever made.

Super Mario World is behind Super Mario Bros. in sales, and the Super Nintendo is behind the Nintendo in sales.

Super Mario 64 is behind Super Mario World in sales, and the Nintendo 64 is behind the Super Nintendo in sales.

Super Mario Sunshine is behind Super Mario 64 in sales, and the Nintendo Gamecube is behind the Nintendo 64 in sales.

See the pattern? Every single Nintendo successor, and Mario successor, have sold less than their predecessors, excluding Nintendo portables, Mario games on those portables, Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario World 2 (which isn't even a true Mario platformer). Now, the Nintendo Wii may become the greatest video game console of all time. Because Mario games sell better on better selling Nintendo consoles, if the Wii sells over 150 million consoles, than Super Mario Galaxy could sell 70, or 80 million units, or more, especially if it becomes bundled with the Wii, which is highly likely, since most of the other Mario games became bundled with their consoles. If Super Mario Galaxy becomes the best Mario game, or best game ever made, expect even more sales.

The pattern is too perfect. If the Wii becomes the best selling console, than Super Mario Galaxy must become the best selling game. There is virtually nothing that can come in its path.
