The RROD is a popular news story that will pop up for the rest of the 360's life. It doesn't have to be true any longer. They may have fixed the problem, but it is far too late for the 360 to recover its reputation as a reliable piece of hardware.
It's sad that they cut out ATI to save money (original reports are they saved 10 million not 50 million). Also, I believe the RROD charge was 1.7 billion, not 1 billion. I doubt they make the same mistake next time, if there is a next time.
