Stockpiling Wiis for the holidays is DEFINITELY a good business move.
It's going to be sold out, I'm sure, both now and during the holidays. It's better for a few people to whine about not getting a Wii right now, then a shortage during the holidays. If there's no Wiis at the holidays, Nintendo will get some horrible press.
Nintendo can sell 2 million a month now, and continue to sell 2 million a month during the holidays...
Or they can sell 1.5 million a month now, and sell 3 million or whatever during the holidays.
It's the same amount of Wiis sold in the end, so it's the same amount of people with or without a Wii in the end...nobody's missing out on much right now anyway...holiday '07 is when the big games will all be out...
