I travel a lot. And you are right, there are places where there is supply. But it is mainly because of Wal-Mart mismanaging its inventory and putting too many Wiis in rural areas and not enough in semi-urban, exurban, suburban, and urban areas.

In other words, unless you go really off the beaten path, you can't find a Wii in the US.

So the major issue is supply -- or lack of it -- just as it has always been.

My guess is Nintendo is holiday stockpiling or has one more surprise card to play -- probably the former since I don't think it wants to fail to meet demand for the third Christmas holiday season in a row.
