If the PS3 keeps this average.

Thats the only important sentence of the whole post. If you make a computation under garbage assumptions you get garbage results.

 ==> we have a winner !

Also, dont expect too much from the Xbox360 price drop ...

No we have two losers.  I mean I could see your point if he only posted the current rate necessary, but if you read the OPs post he also post the numbers it would take for the PS3 to surpass the 360 in 24months, 18 months, and 12 months. If you think the PS3 will out sell the 360 by Christmas 2009 state it and be done with it. Just remember that the PS3 would have to out sell the 360 by an average of nearly 86k per week or just over 343k per month to do so. Did either of you even read the OPs whole post?

 ==> hi,

The OP is guessing like all of us. It is not because he is using the numbers that what he is saying is right.

You can believe him, if you want, that is your choice. I prefer not.

I prefer check the trends, PS3 rising, Xbox360 falling. The Xbox360 will have a sever bump during september/october and then it will go down definitively. Nobody need this console. Media and public have already chosen the PS3 for the second place. NA is not WW. Period.

The 360 has sold more consoles this year than at the same point last year. The PS3 has seen a bigger increase over the prior years sales than the 360. So the PS3 is rising, but so is the 360. The OP did put his guess to when/if the PS3 will surpass the 360 but he also put the numbers it would take for the PS3 to pass the 360 at a sooner date. In other words he said I think _____ but in order for it to happen sooner it will take _____. You co-signed Kyros' post which called his numbers "garbage." His numbers are simple math, it comes down whether are not you believe the PS3 will out sell the 360 by a certain date. You said you think it will happen by Christmas 2009. Which means the PS3 would have to average 86k more a week than the 360. A year from now would be 113k a week, 18 months would be 75k a week, and 24 months would be 57k. There is no twisting or spinning that. It is just taking the time frame you believe and dividing it into the 360's lead over the PS3.
